Indiana Farm Bureau members can officially begin planning their trip to American Farm Bureau Federation’s 101st annual convention, scheduled for Jan. 17-22 in Austin, Texas.
A trade show full of industry leaders, a silent auction, a fun run and a night out to see recording artist Jamey Johnson are among the event’s highlights.
Texas agriculture tours also will be offered. Tour destinations include an olive ranch, distillery, honey farm and winery.
In addition, the convention will hold workshops on topics such as business and rural development, niche agriculture and marketing, policy and advocacy, and technology. These workshops will be held on multiple days throughout convention.
This year’s keynote speaker will be former AFBF President Bob Stallman, who will speak during the leadership luncheon on Sunday. Tickets are required for the luncheon.
A new addition to this year’s convention is the Indiana reception. It will be held at the Austin Fairmont Hotel from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday evening. This reception will take the place of the Indiana breakfast that has been held in years past.
