Kron, Chism elected to national positions at AFBF convention

Indiana Farm Bureau President Randy Kron was reelected to the American Farm Bureau Federation board of directors and INFB 2nd Vice President Isabella Chism was elected chair of the AFBF Women’s Leadership Committee at the 2021 AFBF Virtual Convention.
Kron will represent the Midwest on the board for the next two years. Chism, who has served as vice chair for the past 6 years, was unopposed in the election.
INFB was also recognized in other ways at the convention, which concluded with the annual delegate session on Jan. 14:
- The organization won a New Horizon Award for its successful effort to offer health care plans to its members. The award is presented to state Farm Bureaus with the most innovative programs and to recognize excellence in the implementation of outstanding member programs and membership achievements.
- Justin and Alli McKain, former District 7 representatives on INFB’s Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Committee, have been appointed to serve on the AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee for 2021-2023. The McKains, who are from Sullivan County, served on the INFB committee from 2018-2020.
- Nathan Bush of Johnson County made it to the Sweet 16 round of the YF&R Discussion Meet. In the competition for YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award, INFB was represented by John and Abby Michel of Gibson County, while Kyle and Leah Musselman of Miami County competed for the YF&R Achievement Award.
