Developing “Indiana Farm Bureau Strategic Plan 2023-2026” has been a multi-step process designed to collect more input from members and stakeholders than ever before.
The process is ongoing as INFB creates the goals and objectives that will support a rapidly changing agriculture industry and changing member needs. The main steps in the strategic planning process so far have included:
October 2021
- Discovery session with INFB and Aimpoint Research to help identify the critical information requirements.
November 2021-January 2022
- Foundational study with leadership, staff, INFB board members and county board members to determine the organization’s current position within the competitive landscape, to determine the initiatives and positions of competitors, and to map the current and emerging disruptors in that landscape.
November 2021-February 2022
- Baseline survey of INFB staff, board of directors and county board leadership.
- Survey (telephone and email) of Indiana producers, both members and non-members.
- In all, more than 1,000 survey responses were received.
January-March 2022
- Audit of internal and external data about INFB.
February 2022 and May 2022
- Strategic planning activation sessions held with leadership, staff, board of directors and county leaders.
February-April 2022
- Continued discussion with board and staff to determine the initiatives needed to put the research into action.
Spring 2022
- Strategic planning sessions held in a selection of counties and INFB districts.
- Listening sessions with district education & outreach coordinators and with the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals State Committee.
August 2022
