Fall harvest can be one of the busiest and most dangerous seasons of the year for the agriculture industry. For this reason, the third week of September has been recognized as National Farm Safety and Health Week.
For 2023, National Farm Safety and Health Week is Sept. 17-23. To help groups and individuals with their efforts, the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS) has selected a particular area of focus for each day:
NECAS has prepared resources to help volunteers and organizations plan activities and presentations. You can find this material at www.necasag.org.
Indiana Farm Bureau has created a toolkit on the topic of rural road safety that counties can use in their communication efforts. The toolkit includes press release templates, radio public service announcements, suggested social media posts, print ads and the opportunity to order yard signs that read “Caution: Farm Equipment on the Road.”
To find the toolkit, go to INFB’s website, click on “Resources” and then “ For Volunteers.” “County Marketing Toolkits and Webinars” is found under the “Links” header.
