Indiana Farm Bureau’s public policy team has created a new position – public policy coordinator – and has hired Charlie Tinkle of Carmel to fill it.
In this new role, Tinkle will help the team with event coordination, action alerts and communication with members.
He also will assist with the issuance of black vulture permits. INFB has authority through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to issue sub-permits to livestock producers who are experiencing problems with black vultures.
Prior to coming to INFB, Tinkle already had experience with communications and working with elected officials and trade associations. Previous positions include serving as director of communications for the Indiana Apartment Association and as a senior press secretary for the Indiana Senate Majority Communications office.
A native of Nineveh, Indiana, he holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from Indiana University. Outside of work, his hobbies include following the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers.
