Second-year law student Ainsley Peterson will be serving as a legal extern at Indiana Farm Bureau this spring.
Peterson will be primarily working for the Indiana Agricultural Law Foundation, reporting to John Shoup, director of INAgLaw.
She grew up on a commercial cow/calf operation in Florida, but she came to the Midwest five years ago to attend the University of Illinois, where she majored in both agricultural and consumer economics and agricultural leadership, education and communications. Her extracurriculars included livestock judging and collegiate Farm Bureau.
She is currently in her second year at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Her background includes internships at Illinois Soybean Association, United States Beet Sugar Association, and the dean’s office at the Agricultural and Consumer Economics School at Illinois. Most recently, she was a law clerk at Janzen and Schroeder Agricultural Law in Indianapolis.
She enjoys attending livestock events across the country and helping out at fiancé Cody Dawson’s family farm in Rush County.
